In our second look at the parable of the soils, we discover that all 4 soils can co-exist in a single person’s heart… our challenge then is to properly determine the condition of our heart and act accordingly. Jesus describes the third soil as “thorny"--infested with the worries of life and the deceitfulness of wealth. And yet, we all seem to be full of anxieties and fears… how is it that we can leave behind such worry in our life? Wealth seems so alluring and makes so many promises… but how can we see behind the deceitfulness of money? Listen and find out.
Our church is doing our daily devotions through one to three chapters of Scripture a week, so that we have a chance to meditate on scripture more deeply and thoroughly. The goal is to read the scripture each day for a whole week, memorize key verses or passages, and reflect on the passage through daily journaling and prayer.
